Thirty Five - 27 September 2019.
Thirty Five is a personal project to mark change. I have, for many years, been wedded to the 35mm lens as my favoured focal length, my ‘go to’ lens. I have been trying to move away from that for a while, or at least to try alternatives, to maintain creative development, and to avoid becoming too stuck in a photography rut. But with limited success. So I thought I’d spend thirty five days using only my 35mm lens to take photos; ideally one a day, posting here and on social media. Thereafter, I would not use my 35mm for personal work for a yet-to-be-determined period of time and see what creative change that brought. Or, I’d discover I love the 35mm focal length and want to use it all the more. That’s the beauty of it; I have no idea how I will feel at the end. To make my life a little easier having to take a photograph every day the work will be based around my local area and the people in it. As such this project is also a snapshot in time.
